SINGAPORE, 21 August 2018 – The seventh edition of Singapore's annual technology-industry matching event TechInnovation will be held on 18 and 19 September at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre. Organised by IPI, TechInnovation 2018 will gather international business and technology leaders, industry experts, researchers and technology seekers to explore new innovations, broaden networks and forge partnerships.
The event is expected to draw over 4,000 delegates from around the world and will feature 160 exhibitors showcasing over 400 enabling technologies. Enterprises can tap on the latest technologies to develop their portfolio of innovative products and services. The Guest-of-Honour for TechInnovation 2018 will be Dr Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry.
Opening keynotes and new tracks at TechInnovation this year
TechInnovation 2018's opening day keynote speakers are Hima Mukkamala, General Manager of IoT Cloud Services of Arm, who will speak on Driving Innovation in a Connected IoT World, and Grace Chew, Technical Director and Co-founder of Hydroemission, who will share her company’s experience on Open Innovation: Transforming Business, Driving Growth.

This year, in addition to an expanded Food Innovation track, we are introducing the Urban AgriTech track, together, our participants will gain insights into the latest technology trends from Farm to Fork,” said Professor Lam Khin Yong, Executive Director of IPI.
“The Logistics Innovation track will also make its debut and feature a line-up of thought leaders in the logistics and supply chain management arena. They will share how to exploit innovative technologies to improve efficiencies, enhance capabilities and embark on a journey of innovation transformation for long-term growth,” he added.
Pursuit for talent, ideas and technologies to accelerate innovation
TechInnovation’s unique crowdsourcing segment opens new opportunities for innovators with the right solutions to go into partnerships with global corporates. Speakers like Jessie Yip, Business Development Head Start-ups & Partner Program of GE; Nilesh Wadhwa, Director, New Ventures & Transactions of Johnson & Johnson and Dr Shin Fujita, General Manager, Innovation Centre of Shimadzu Asia Pacific; will share emerging trends, challenges and opportunities in their respective sectors and invite the industry and the R&D community to collaborate.
First-time crowdsourcing speaker, Dr Stefan Jakob, Global R&D Director of Nutrition and Animal Health from France-based feed additives specialist, Adisseo, shared: “We are convinced that the big leaps in innovation are coming from technology transfer, bringing together different industries which are at the first sight of view not connected to each other. Moreover, breakthrough innovation is often coming from start-ups or smaller-sized companies, with which Adisseo likes to connect and foster an atmosphere of innovation for them and grow together with them.”
